Dudya would make Colonel Klink look inteligent!

When I first received this image over the internet I had some doubts about its authenticity.  However, The Sunday Telegraph published the same photograph on page 23 - on January 16th, 2005 under the presentation "The World's Great Pictures".

The caption underneath was, "NONE SO BLIND: US President George W. Bush took a dim view of the demilitarized zone between the two Koreas, having neglected to remove his binocular lens caps."

The comment from the manageress of my favourite place to have breakfast when I showed her the newspaper was, "What an idiot!"  My comment to her was, "This is who we've got running the world."

Contrastingly above this image of the the man they were referring to when the statement, "Some village in Texas has lost its idiot", was coined was an image of a true family man - a captured Iraqi cuddling his son whilst he was wearing one of those infamous hoods!  I have no doubt that the contrast was intended.

"All great truth is dealt with in three ways: First it is ridiculed; then
it is violently opposed; and finally it is accepted as self-evident."

A. Schopenhauer, famous German philosopher

"An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually winning over
and converting its opponents: what does happen is its opponents gradually die
out and the growing generation is familiarized with the idea from the beginning."

Max Planck, father of modern physics

"The prophet courageously challenges oppressive social structures of which the
church may be an integral part. The prophet is the end result of the best in the
tradition and spirituality of the church - which soon, sadly, drives him or her out."

J. Milton Yinger, 1946

Actual Radio Conversation

(The Origins Of Arrogance)

This was a conversation between a US naval ship and Canadian
authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in late 1995.

Canadians: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south
to avoid a collision.

Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north
to avoid a collision.

Canadians: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees
to the south to avoid a collision.

Americans: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again,
divert YOUR course.

Canadians: No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.

Americans: This is the Aircraft Carrier US LINCOLN, the second
largest ship in the United States Atlantic Fleet. We
are accompanied with three Destroyers, three Cruisers
and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND that you change
your course 15 degrees north. I say again, that's
one-five degrees north, or counter-measures will be
undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.

Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call.
